PERU: An undated photograph released by the Peruvian news service Andina of the Brachionidium Inkaterrense, one of the two recently discovered orchid in the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, close to the Inca citadel of the same name. The plant were located at the top of the gorge Alccamayo, between 3,000 and 3,200 meters above sea level, raising 25 centimeters tall and blooms up to 1.5 centimeters in diameter. American botanist Carlyle August Luer, curator of the Missouri Botanical Garden and a specialist in the genre of orchids confirmed that it was a species new to science publishing them under their new name.
